    Virginia Beach

    The Boardwalk Art Show is one of the East Coast's oldest outdoor art shows and takes place over 4 days with about 200,000 visitors from across the country. In addition to hundreds of artists and their works, there is live entertainment, food, and shopping.

    The Neptune Festival celebrates the heritage of Virginia Beach through many different activities and events. Some include surfing contests, road races, sand castle competitions, art shows, wine tasting, parade, and many more. Don't miss what has been called one of the top 100 festivals in the country!

    Sandler Center for Performing Arts is a world-class theatre built to meet the growing demand for Virginia Beach's own performing arts facility. There are a wide variety of performances by some of the top artists in music, comedy, dance and theatre.

    The Craft Beer Festival invites visitors to sample microbrews from over 50 local breweries and enjoy live music and a sunset on the beach while you learn about craft beer making. A beer lover's dream!

    The East Coast Surfing Championship is the second oldest surfing event in the world, held annually in Virginia Beach. Hundreds of professional amateur surfers come to compete for prizes and also participate in other events such as volleyball, skimboarding, and live concerts.

    Norfolk

    The Attucks Theatre was built in 1919 by the African American community and named for African American patriot Crispus Attucks, the first to be killed during the Boston Massacre of 1770. This is one of Norfolk's oldest theatres and still strives to preserve African American culture by providing ethnically diverse programming to the community.

    Norfolk Harborfest is a 4-day waterfront festival featuring many exciting activities; you won't be able to miss one of the East Coast's largest fireworks shows, plenty of live entertainment, water activities, tall ship tours, cornhole tournaments, and "real life" mermaids.

    The Norfolk Jazz Festival is the oldest jazz festival in the Norfolk area. In addition to food and other entertainment, the festival features well-known jazz musicians performing over an entire weekend in mid-July every year.

    The Hampton Roads area (Norfolk, Hampton, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake) offers exceptional arts and music performance opportunities at the Virginia Opera, Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and Virginia Ballet.
